57 plate 1.8 Tdci Focus has developed a whooooooo - ing noise over past 3months, think its the turbo. It only happens intermittently but has happened more often last couple of weeks. Starts fine, no noise when driving short trips around town even when engine is at optimum temp and revs high.

Posted July 16, 2012. diesels dont have dump valves as standard the ford focus diesels use a recirculation valve infact all diesels do so fitting a dump valve would only cause issues. i.e engine management lights , and drops in performance.

I watched all the videos and thought it was ok, but it sounds horrific. Only good thing that came of it was me buying a full system to replace it. I am looking for a cheap way to get some more power from the focus 1.8 tdci and have seen a number of in line boxes that install between the fuel pressure sensor and the ECU. There are a number of them for sale on the famous auction site but is there a better option without spending more than £100? RqM4EW.
